A photo to brighten up a wet day! This is a Sloe Shieldbug, also known as Hairy Shieldbug, found in a packet of strawberries in Inverurie recently. This species has been recorded in the St Cyrus area but we don't know of any other records farther north. The strawberries were grown and packed in Kent so we presume that this individual came from there. Thanks to Marie McKnight for this photo and for sending in the record. A new species of moth for NE Scotland recorded near Luthermuir. This is the first record we have of Buff Footman, not to be confused with the similar looking Common Footman.
